Pains can occur at the upper back and top of the shoulder and it can radiate into the upper arm, into muscles, down the arm, into the fingers, and even to nerves which originate around the spine especially in the neck.

The shoulder pain gives the warning that organs are affected and pain is radiating from the shoulder. Pain under the shoulder blade signals that there are problems with the abdominal structures, in the stomach, and in the chest which should be treated quickly to get rid of upper back pain.
