  • Sitting in one posture for hours together without moving your legs or body. This can trigger pain even if you sit with a correct posture. This is because immobility for prolonged time period makes your back muscles weak and rigid. And if you are sitting with a wrong posture continuously, you can very well expect disaster for your back!
  • Lifting heavy objects with a jerk or incorrect bending or twisting. There are other strenuous physical activities too, that involve quick movements or bending of back. They exert pressure on your back.
  • Uneasy chairs at the workplace are one of the major causes of lower back pain. Chairs without support are an enemy of your back.
  • Stress is a killer. And it does not leave your back too! When you are in stress, your breathing gets rapid or shallow. This stiffens the spinal muscles. It leads to compression of the spine and may even cause minor mishap such as throwing your back out of balance or bending over, which causes pain.
  • High heels look sexy; but sexy can sometimes be dangerous! If you have a habit of wearing high heels for hours at a stretch, you will sooner or later complain of lower back pain! It can be due to inadequate support to the arch of your feet.
  • Pregnant women generally experience severe back pain due to the pressure exerted by the expanding uterus. In addition to this, some women may feel pain in the lower back while delivering the baby. This is known as back labor. There is no remedy for it. But, it passes away on its own.
